Well, loyal blog readers. You may notice that some time has passed since my last blog (approximately 6 months give or take). I unfortunately have been incredibly side-tracked and distracted by my homework, my internship, and my work. But I feel that I owe all of you who care enough to check this blog an update. I also have a therapy appointment in a week and I need to be able to say that I blog regularly as a creative outlet, otherwise they are just going to tell me to get a hobby. So thank you all for the role you play in helping me impress my future therapist.

A Much Needed Apartment Update

So, I know the last blog left everything all very tenuous with the logistics, and legality, of my living environments. Rest assured that my lease is signed and in place, and any bugs in the vicinity currently fear the girlies of Dayton Triangle. Unrelated fun fact: I am the tallest roommate in our apartment. If you find that odd, you should because I am 5’2”. If you are wondering how that affects our day to day lives, just know that.currently there is not one thing on the top shelf of a single kitchen cabinet and that there is a handy compact step ladder in the kitchen for those pesky middle shelves.

I am fully unpacked (six months later, Bianca we would surely hope) and my little room is so absolutely adorable with the pink bedspread and curtains and decorations and everything else that could possibly be pink because I am actually just genuinely annoying. I also bought my first extension cords this month and that was expensive and depressing, because adulthood is expensive and depressing

School

School is going pretty well, I just started my second quarter, which means I am starting new classes again. Interestingly, my classes are all in the same rooms as they were in during last quarter. As in all my Monday classes are in the same room as last quarter and all my Tuesday classes are in the same room as last quarter. It is kind of nice because I didn't have to deal with first day of class where am I going jitters which did calm some of my anxiety. But it also makes me stir crazy throughout the day, which coupled with my energy drink addiction, increases my anxiety. It’s like a Schrodinger’s cat situation in my brain.

I am still working on campus in student support and I LOVE my job. My supervisor is great and incredibly supportive, the students are so fun to work with and teach me new things everyday. Somehow even though I am 22 and only just graduated I am no longer into the hip undergrad lingo. So usually once a week I learn a new fun phrase that keeps me young.

Colorado

Colorado has been really cold, but as a 17 year veteran of West Michigan’s windchill, it really has not been that big of an adjustment. I do think that I agree with the consensus that Denver seems to plow its roads better, so I have not found the driving conditions to be worse weather-wise. In general, even when it is cold here there will still be sunshine unless it is blizzarding like it did this weekend.

I still absolutely maintain that the drivers here are terrible, but I am noticing it less and less now. Which either means that I am becoming more and more desensitized while I am driving, or I am becoming a worse driver. But either way I don’t like it.

Until next time my friends!! I solemnly pledge to DEFINITELY blog again soon!!! Yeah, I know, I will see you again in six months.
